I thank God for the life of our neighbor. She’s not perfect but she has many good qualities that you can truly appreciate on her. She’s a very thoughtful woman who never fails to greet her neighbors on their birthdays. Because we live next to each other, she always had the opportunity to bless us with her cooking. She never fails to give us her special dishes even on just ordinary days. Thus, we also exchange dishes on some occasions.

Today, she surprised us once again. She called over her window and hand me two plates of food. It was a spaghetti and a “menudo” all prepared by her. She’s indeed very generous. May the Lord truly bless her in return.

Did you know that the Philippine Mango is known as the sweetest mango in the world. When our American friends came over to the Philippines, this is the first fruit they tried. Not is the sweetest but also the most delicious mango in the world.

How do you know if the mango is sweet? It’s very simple. All you have to do is smell it. If the smell is good then that mango is sweet. Second, try to look for the texture of the peeling of the mango. Once it is smooth outside, that is of a good kind.

The Philippine mango has a whole year season but the peak season is around summer. I know it because that’s the time our mango tree bears fruit. It is also the time where a lot of kids are trying to steal its fruits. LOL!

The Dynasty Court Hotel is situated right at the heart of Cagayan de Oro City. It’s one of the best hotel and restaurant here in our city. Whenever we have gatherings at home, we never fail to order food from this restaurant. Their restaurant serves as the best Chinese Cuisine, from simple dumpling to the twelve course fine dining fit for a king. Specialty of the house are the Peking Duck served with Chinese ingredients imported from Hongkong and the Sharks Fin soup mixed with authentic shark’s fin fibers. Our family loves their yummy sotanghon, patatim and the beef with oyster’s sauce. They also have this unique birthday noodles matched with colorful pink quail eggs.

Since we are a frequent customer in this restaurant they give us discounts in our purchases and that’s what we love the most. One more thing, their restaurant has a good ambiance too.
