When I was still in grade school I told my mom that I wanted to change my family name because I don’t like it. I wanted those family names that I read on books, magazines and newspapers. My mom was laughing at me and she explained that family names are permanent and I can only change it once I am married. I don’t know why I don’t like my family name, maybe because of my experience with my father. If someone would give family name plaques I won’t surely accept it.
Later when I was in college, I began to love my family name. I realized God gave me that family name for a special purpose. I am even more thankful because I was born to have a family name.
