Going out with friends is always fun when there is food around. A simple talk is always exciting and interesting especially when you have something to munch on. The photo above was taken a year ago. It was a day out with my high school friends. We had a simple afternoon snack in one of the restaurants here in Cagayan de Oro. Most of us ordered sandwiches, ice tea and fruit shakes. Yummy!

If you want to organize a caroling activity here are some tips:

1. Invite friends who really enjoy singing. These are friends who are really gifted in singing.
2. Invite friends who are not gifted in singing but are courageous enough to sing. (LOL!) Just make sure they don’t overpower the voices of those who are “on key”.
3. Tell your friends to get the right look. Here in the Philippines, the most common is to wear colorful outfits. You can ask your friends to wear something red, yellow or green.
4. Don’t forget to bring a musical instrument. A guitar and a tambourine would be nice.
5. Provide song sheets for your friends. Not all of them can memorize the lyrics of the songs. Also make sure that you have the right lyrics to every song.
6. Don’t forget to bring flashlights and other stuff needed for emergencies.
7. Lastly, always be reminded for your safety. Especially if you are visiting places or neighborhood that you are not familiar with and please be aware of some stray dogs.

It’s Nanay Ceiling’s 83rd birthday today. Nanay Ceiling is the sister of my grandmother. She’s also close to me because we attend the same church. I am so happy that her children gave her a birthday treat, by inviting all relatives for a dinner. Wow! I am now excited to attend the birthday celebration tonight at 6PM. I’m also excited to meet my cousins and my other relatives too.Nanay Ceiling (right) together with her sisters.

It is my prayer that God will grant Nanay Ceiling a long and satisfied life. I pray that God will grant all the desires of her heart. Thank you Lord for giving her the gift of life.

Actually, I was supposed to greet her on the exact date of her Birthday but I was busy preparing for her special day. (Hope you’ll forgive me for it!) Anyway, even if I’m a bit late of greeting her, I still wanted to post this because I am truly blessed by her life.  She’s truly an ATe (Big Sister) given the fact that she’s 10 years older than me. But aside from the age, I can say that she is a mentor, a great leader and a wonderful sister. She’s a very patient woman and she’s very strong to face any trials that may come her way. Even if she’s already carrying a big problem, she still managed to smile and crack jokes. You can read her funny posts on her blog at Nenette’s Niche.

To Ate Neneth, thank you for sharing your life to me and to all of us. You are a great blessing! May God continually bless you with all the good things in life. May you continue to inspire others and bless them through your life.
