Girl Scout of the Philippines

Friday Photo Flashback

I’m proud to say that I was a member of the Girl Scout of the Philippines. I was a girl scout since my grade school and until high school. This photo was taken in the year 1995 when I was 4th year high school. We had a school activity back then and I was tasked to recite the Girl’s Scout Promise. I looked so serious on the photo, because I don’t want to forget what I have to say that day. Here’s the Girl’s Scout Promise…

On my honor, I will do my duty:

to God and my country;

to help other people at all times;

and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Thank God I memorized all the lines that day… no mistakes!

  5. I was a Girl Scout too :o) And when my family were stationed at Clark AFB (we lived there from Summer of 1976 to the summer of 1978), my Cadet Girl Scout troop went to Bacolod (I think that is right?) My memory of that Girl Scout trip was doing the Orienteering event…losing one of my contacts! and then still winning by getting to the base camp first! I dont know how I managed to d that, since without my contacts or glasses I really can’t see very well!

    Our troop also would go to Baguio City to the Silver factory.

    One of the songs we would sing went like this:

    Make new friends, but keep the old.
    One is silver and the other’s gold.

    Blessings & Aloha!
    (I hope you get a chance to stop by :o)
