Yummy Sunday 136: Halo-Halo

Photobucket

One of the popular foods during summer here in the Philippines is “Halo-Halo” from a Filipino word meaning “mix”. Halo-Halo is a Filipino popular Filipino dessert that is a mixture of shaved ice and evaporated milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans and fruits, and served in a tall glass or bowl. This is one of my snacks when I had a meeting at MOm’s Corner last Thursday. The first one I ate was the “Ube” ice cream on top. It was delicious and was perfect for the very hot summer season.
