My mom was diagnosed with goiter a few years ago. A goiter is a condition wherein you may experience enlargement/lump in your neck which is cause  too much thyroid hormone produced by the thyroid glands.

When we had a medical check-up the doctor asked him if he always eats cabbage. My seldom eat cabbage but at the back of my mind, I was wondering what is the connection of the cabbage and my mom’s goiter.

When I reached home, I immediately Googled the relationship of the two and l found out that cabbage is one of the goiter promoting foods. Other goiter promoting foods include soybeans, peaches, peanuts and spinach. Eating huge amounts of these foods can cause a goiter.
